This has been Hungry? Herbie’s mission statement since opening day in July of 1957. Founded by the Cottrell family (of Surplus Herby’s fame), whose philosophy was to give the customer fresh, quality food in a sparkling clean environment with friendly service.
In the years to follow the restaurant was owned by Jim and Helen Pittman, their son Bill Pittman and finally, as of 2007, Bob Dowse. Bob continues to carry on the traditions and recipes that have been key to Herbie’s success for over 50 years.
